PARISH HISTORY

In 1960, a group of residents of barrio Bayan-bayanan (Ignacia de Leon, August de Guzman, Francisca Torres and Felisa de Leon) initiated the construction of a small chapel, with the help of Fr. Jose Mirasol who has then assigned to Boystown. Attendance to the Sunday mass numbered to only about thirteen, but Fr. Mirasol never failed to celebrate the mass.

The chapel which was constructed of used wooden materials did not start the test of the elements. Again, through the help of Fr. Mirasol, the said plight of the parishioners was brought to the attention of the Archbishop of Manila.

The chapel was completed on December 7, 1960. His Eminence Rufino Cardinal Santos blessed the new building.
